SUMMER IN CRETE IN AN APARTMENT OR A STUDIO

Crete is the biggest island of the republic of Greece. It measures about 8200 Km.² It’s on his widest point 81 Km. = Heraklion-Kalos Limenes and on its smallest point 18 Km. = Pachia Ammos to Ierapetra The total distance from the highway on the north coast from Kissamos/Kastelli to Sitia = 340 Km., but the island is totally about 365 Km. from the west to the east coast.

We acknowledge 4 prefectures Chania, Rethymno, Heraklion and Lassithi, the first 3 named after their capital but the Lassithi capital is Agios Nicolaos.

The north coast is very well developed for tourism and every where on the coastline you will find resorts, big and small with hotels, apartments, pensions and villas. Each resort is of course accompanied with Rent a Car business, travel agencies, Restaurants, fast food places, harbours with boat trips etc. etc.

The south coast offers nice clean resorts with mainly small hotels, apartments, studios and villas. Also here are all services available and enough places for food.

Crete has 2 tourist airports, at Heraklion and Chania, and in some years there’s 1 extra at Sitia in the east of Crete. The charter flights arrive all summer from all over Europe incl. the east block countries. From other countries you will probably use a scheduled line and change in Athens.
