In many of our web pages you will notice that we are fans from Plakias, this is because we made our first steps in tourism in this village.

Once you have been in Plakias it’s the beginning of a lifetime love that will never stop. The beautiful beaches, the nice hospitable people & village, the various walking routes for all year make this a perfect holiday destination. All amenities are available in Plakias and you are situated on a very central point for your trips in the area.

Souda Mare Hotel is about 2 Km. outside the village Plakias and 100 meter from the lovely peaceful Souda beach. The hotel is built along the beach road and all rooms offer sea view.

The hotel is managed by Michaelis & Raissa Sourbaki, who personally care about their guests' well-being. For deposit of valuables a safe is offered at the reception. Information about excursions, sailing trips, or even personal recommendations may be obtained here.

Seventeen pleasantly furnished rooms with two or three beds are available, each with private bathroom, balcony, airco and perfect sea view.

Recently the Greeks have introduced their own beer which is served at the bar, apart from Raki and exquisite vin ordinaire from the surrounding villages. In the morning a vast buffet is offered to give you a good start for the day. Full board can be ordered on request or - if you let us know in advance - dinner occasionally. Michaelis & Raissa are cooking in a very delicious Cretan Russian way. The fish which is about to be prepared here is fresh of course and caught by Plakias' fishermen.
