MAKRIYIALOS is located 120 km from Heraklion airport to the southeast of the island of Crete.

On picturesque peaceful beaches all light and color you can enjoy the clear sea and allow yourself to sink into a state of total tranquillity. Makriyialos as the southernmost Cretan village, has one of the longest summer seasons. The village has a wide range of tavern as, shops mini markets and bars. Swimming, fishing, water sports, trekking are some of the activities you can try during your holiday.

 

 

A beautiful stone villa with private swimming pool and stunning views overlooking olive groves down to the sea. The Villa is situated in the tranquil area of VAYIA which is the local name for the palm tree. It belongs to Despotakis family.

 

The villa offers a fantastic degree of privacy, and there are very few signs of habitation as far as the eye can see. However as the bustling harbour of Makriyialos is only 3km away, you have privacy without sacrificing convenience; with the car you can easily reach the numerous tavern as, shops and unspoilt beaches throughout your holiday stay.

 

The villa offers particularly spacious accommodation with a total of four bedrooms arranged over two floors, and two lovely terraces, one on the ground floor at the front of the house, and the other on the first flour leading off one of the bedrooms. The traditional feel of the house, which strikes you immediately upon seeing the thick, stone-walled exterior as you approach along the rough track leading to the house, is echoed in the interiors which have been furnished to an extremely high standards with family heirlooms and antiques which have been passed down from generation to generation.

 

 

The bedrooms have lovely old iron bedsteads with decorative metalwork and modern floors and shutters. The very special living area boasts an open fireplace and to one side is a large well equipped kitchen area with a full oven and fridge. Access to the ground floor double bedroom and shower room is also off the lounge and a solid wooden staircase leads to the first floor bedrooms and a bathroom. All the bedrooms on the first floor have attractive sloping beamed ceilings, and from the single bedroom there is access to a large terrace at the front of the house which is perfect spot to sit in the quiet of the pate evening and watch for shooting stars.

 

Outside there is the pool area with the barbeque and the garden with a tamarisk tree.
