The Sky Dive Crete is located at the airport of Tympaki. Tympaki is in the South Coast of Crete and is only 40 minutes away from the International Airport (N. Kazantzakis) of Heraklion. Tympaki (Timpaki) is a tourist area by the sea with hotels, apartments, shops and restaurants, ideal for family holidays all year round.
On Thursday 22nd of May 2008 we had also the essential inspection from the Greek Air sport Federation, with the presence of the chairman Mr. Evangelos Savramis, as well as the well known to all Greek skydivers, member of the parachuting committee Mr. Ioannis Lykakis. The inspection was completed with absolute success, and from now on we can educate our first students.
This year take the opportunity to visit Crete and have a look to the hot, crystal waters and beautiful high mountains from the 12500 ft with a skydive and explore the splendid world of unique freedom that we will offer you. We will do everything to make this dream come true!!! We have new full equipment for new and experienced skydivers from the most known companies in the world. An airplane is ready for your quick transfer at 12500 ft.
You can jump 365 days from up to 12,500ft with us next to the sea. We offer you the best education according to the USPA and Greek Federation. Our courses include: Accelerated Freefall (AFF), TANDEM, STATIC LINE, ADVANCED TRAINING, COACHING, FREEFALL, CANOPY CONTROL. RELATIVE WORK.
The AFF jump is for you if you’re looking to experience the thrill of skydiving with instructors at your side, not attached to you. This jump experience is often more rewarding because, after 4 to 5 hours of ground instruction, you’re in control of the skydive.
The instruction is much more detailed than a Tandem Skydive because you’re in charge.
You have two instructors who exit the airplane with you, fly by your side to coach you (using hand signals you learned during your training), and assist you if necessary during your nearly one minute of freefall. The instructors will leave your side after you deploy your own parachute. After 4 to 5 minutes of breath-taking views, you get to land your parachute. With radio assistance, you will be directed to the proper landing area for a nice controlled landing.
Now that you’ve graduated from AFF, what’s next? You want to skydive with other skydivers! You need to get you’re “A” license. Or maybe you have your license and you’re looking for a way to improve your performance in a skydive. To do that, you need to skydive with other skydivers. This is called “relative work” because it is done “relative” to other skydivers in the air with you.
RW consists of a few basic skills put together in each skydive. Some of the skills required to do safe RW work are:
To improve your RW skills you need to have at least one other skydiver in the air with you as a reference for your maneuvers. To maximize your training, the other skydiver needs to be an experienced observer. Each RW jump is done with an instructor and, if you wish, a videographer. The instructor provides a reference point, or base, that allows you to see the results of your movements in the air without any guess work. Each jump is followed by a thorough debriefing session recapping your actions and their result.
